Abstract

The harmonization of rabbit carcass criteria is a result of an international work. lts task was to specify the main traits to be considered from the birth of the animal to the carcass analysis, to define these traits with enough accuracy and to propose a common terminology. The work concerns: 1-growth, consumption and breeding measurements, preslaughter handling and slaughter processing, 2- dressing out percentage analysis, 3- measurements or prediction of chilled and reference carcass composition. The proposal described in this work updates the former proposal published in 1993, and has the status of official document of the WRSA.
