Abstract:

In this work we aimed to make four didactic proposals and materials that might be helpful in order to study the compliments in the Spanish as a Second Language (SSL) class. Flaterous comments and compliments are generally underestimated in language teaching, as we could observe from the analysis of a series of SSL workbooks. Therefore, we present several ideas on the nature of these expressions and on the benefitsof their presentation in the class.
