Policy for the dissemination of content and bibliographies

This journal is committed to disseminating published content, both in articles and in supplementary files, and encourages collection to bring knowledge to the scientific community. It also considers the collection of metadata and bibliographic references essential and allows for interoperability through interoperability.

1. Publication Formats

Articles and other scientific content will be published in the following formats to ensure accessibility and preservation:

  • PDF (main publication format, compatible with digital preservation standards such as PDF/A

2. Citation of Sources

Articles must follow internationally recognized citation standards. The journal will adopt:

  • APA (American Psychological Association)
  • The use of persistent identifiers such as DOI, ORCID, and ResearcherID will be encouraged in bibliographic references.

3. Export to Reference Managers

To facilitate reference management, the journal will provide citation export in the following formats:

  • RIS (compatible with EndNote, Mendeley, and Zotero)
  • BibTeX (for LaTeX and academic reference managers)
  • RefWorks
  • COinS (for interoperability with various bibliographic systems)

4. Social Media Dissemination

Dissemination strategies will be implemented to maximize the visibility of content on major social media platforms through the @PoliPapers account, with the following goals:

  • Sharing published content with the academic community connected to major social media platforms,
  • Using tags and structured metadata to optimize search and dissemination on academic networks,
  • Implementing alternative metrics (altmetrics) to evaluate the impact of articles on social media platforms.

Interoperability Protocols

An OAI-PMH (Open Archives Initiative – Protocol for Metadata Harvesting) interface is provided, enabling interoperability between different platforms and repositories through metadata exchange (https://polipapers.upv.es/index.php/jpeval/oai). Thus, to ensure the visibility and collection of articles in scientific databases and repositories, the following protocols are implemented:

  • OAI-PMH (Open Archives Initiative Protocol for Metadata Harvesting) for indexing in institutional repositories and databases such as DOAJ and SciELO.
  • Dublin Core and METS/MODS for structured metadata.
  • CrossRef and DataCite for DOI assignment and validation.

Digital Preservation

To ensure the long-term preservation of published content, the journal will implement a preservation policy:

  • Storage in LOCKSS and CLOCKSS to ensure distributed and redundant copies.
  • Deposit in open-access institutional and national repositories.
  • Conversion to digital preservation formats such as XML JATS and PDF/A.
  • Periodic backups on high-security servers.

This policy will be reviewed periodically to adapt to international best practices and technological advances in the dissemination of scientific knowledge.
