[JPEVAL] 2nd Call for papers
Following the publication of its first issue, the Journal of Policy Evaluation (JPEVAL) is pleased to announce the Call for Papers for its second issue, to be published in May 2026.
JPEVAL is a peer-reviewed, biannual academic journal devoted exclusively to the analysis, monitoring and evaluation of public policies. Building on the editorial line inaugurated in its first issue the journal invites original research contributions that advance knowledge on policy evaluation across sectors, methodologies and institutional contexts.
We welcome theoretical and empirical papers addressing, among others:
- ex ante, interim and ex post evaluation of public programmes and reforms;
- quantitative, qualitative and mixed-methods approaches to policy evaluation;
- microsimulation, causal inference, experimental and quasi-experimental designs;
- evaluation systems, institutionalisation of evaluation and governance frameworks;
- data-driven and digital tools for monitoring and evaluation;
- policy impacts on social, economic and environmental outcomes.
Authors may also wish to consult the first issue of JPEVAL, available on the journal’s website, as a reference for the journal’s editorial scope, standards and types of contributions published.
Submissions are accepted in English and must comply with the journal’s editorial guidelines. Manuscripts should be submitted through the journal’s website following prior registration.
Before submitting your manuscript, we kindly encourage authors to consult the updated Submissions section on the journal’s website, which now includes a submission checklist, detailed author guidelines and updated manuscript templates, aimed at making the review process more transparent, efficient and traceable for both authors and reviewers.
Deadline for submission: 15 February 2026
Authors interested in contributing as peer reviewers are warmly invited to indicate their availability when submitting their manuscript or by contacting the editorial team.
For further information on submission guidelines, templates and the review process, please visit our website or contact us at jpeval@sociedadevaluacion.es.
We would be grateful if you could disseminate this call within your academic and professional networks, including doctoral researchers and early-career scholars working in the field of public policy evaluation.
Kind regards,
JPEVAL Editorial Committee
