CALL FOR PAPERS Thematic Issue on Openness in Language Education: Global practices and research, pedagogical innovation and critical resistance

12/16/2025

Submission deadline: April 19th, 2026

Publication date: Winter 2026

On behalf of the coordinators of the EUROCALL Special Interest Group on LMOOCs and OERs for Language Teaching and Learning, the editors of The EUROCALL Review are pleased to announce a thematic issue devoted to exploring the role and impact of Open Educational Resources (OERs) for Language Education. OERs offer transformative opportunities for language teaching and learning, yet their adoption remains uneven and contextually complex. This thematic issue seeks original contributions that explore how OERs can foster pedagogical innovation, inclusion, and sustainability while responding to diverse cultural, social, and economic realities worldwide. We welcome theoretical, empirical, and practical studies that provide insights into the development, adoption, and impact of OERs in language education.
