Abstract:
Vicente Sancho was a well-known architect who developed his work during the early years of the 20th century. His work was within the style of Valencian Art Nouveau. He was widely renowned in those days. Despite this, his labor is practically unknown nowadays. One of his most ingenious buildings was la casa de las golondrinas (the House of the Swallows) both for its size and for its in-depth compositional study. In this article, the building has been studied at a compositional level and has been compared with some Valencian Art Nouveau buildings included in the Structural Catalogue of Assets and Protected Spaces of Valencia PGOU of Valencia. The objective of this study is to rekindle interest in and value the architecture of Vicente Sancho.
