Biography

José Vicente Oliver Villanueva, Doctor of Forestry Engineering (summa cum laude) from the University of Göttingen (Germany).Full Professor at the Polytechnic University of Valencia in Forest Bioeconomy and Wood Industries since 2001. Director of the I+D TIC Group against Climate Change at the ITACA Institute of the UPV since 2014).R&D Director of AIDIMA (Institute of Technology for Wood and Furniture) from 1998 to 2010. Pre- and post-doctoral researcher at the University of Göttingen between 1990 and 1998. Professor at the Universities of Melbourne/Australia (2005), Göttingen/ Germany (2008), Talca/Chile (2015) and Sydney/Australia (2022).Advisor to the EU Commission in DG Research (1999-2003), DG Enterprise (2002-2006) and Committee of the Regions (since 2021).81 peer-reviewed scientific articles. 92 participations in national and international conferences. Participation in 43 R&D projects, of which IP in 29 (16 European). Author of 10 books and chapters of research books. Director of 8 doctoral theses and 87 PFC/TFG/TFM. Author of 3 international patents.Schweihofer European Prize in Wood Research 2009.Medal of Honor for Research from the College of Forestry Engineers of Spain 2019.
