Tim Lueking, was born in 1975 in Bielefeld, Germany and, since March 2014, has been employed as a senior lecturer at the FH JOANNEUM GmbH. Tim began his career as an apprentice carpenter, in order to gain practical skills within the building industry, after which he studied architecture at the Bauhaus University Weimar. After graduating in 2006 he worked as a freelance architect and as a project architect in an architectural office, to get experience of managing high-specification residential building projects. In 2008 he began working at Graz University of Technology at the Institute of Architecture Technology, teaching in the Bachelor and Master programme. Besides this he was an active member of several high profile scientific research projects. For his PhD-thesis he analyses the qualities and constraints of single layer building envelopes, as e.g. the advantages and disadvantages concerning detail design, embodied energy and recycling.
