Receipt and Initial Review
The submission must be prepared using the Template and anonymised. Along with the anonymous submission (without including the authors' names or affiliations), another file with the authorship details must be included. See guidelines for authors.
Review by the Editorial Committee
The editorial coordinator conducts a preliminary review to verify the timeliness of the research, scientific structure, compliance with the journal's standards, and suitability for the journal's stated focus.
In addition, the submission is subjected to an anti-plagiarism review using the Ithenticate tool.
Once this stage is complete, a confirmation email is sent to the corresponding author.
First Editorial Evaluation
The Editorial Committee analyses whether the submission meets the minimum quality criteria, both in terms of writing and content.
- If it does not meet the requirements, the manuscript may be rejected without undergoing external evaluation.
- If it is approved, the peer review process begins in the next stage.
Peer Review (See scientific evaluation policy)
The editorial committee selects two experts in the subject area of the submission, either national or international, based on their expertise in the topic and the language of the manuscript. Mutual anonymity between authors and reviewers is guaranteed. The journal provides reviewers with guidelines for the review process, and reviewers must confirm that they have no conflicts of interest.
The reviewers' report will follow a structured format and will be archived on the platform as part of the editorial process. This report will serve as a tool to support editorial decision-making.
If there is a discrepancy between the two evaluations, a third review will be requested to ensure a fair decision.
Plagiarism control.
Submissions will be checked to ensure they are original and free of plagiarism using the Ithenticathe platform, and the resulting report will be shared with the section editors. As a general rule, any submission with a similarity score of over 15% will be analysed in detail. If plagiarism is detected, the authors will be notified and the submission will be rejected.
The results of the two reports, once analysed by the editorial committee, will be sent to the authors with the following recommendations:
- Publish without modifications
- Publish with modifications, listing the modifications. If the changes are significant, the new submission will undergo another round of review.
- Do not publish
Feedback to authors
Authors receive an anonymous report written by the editorial committee based on the reviewers' comments.
Authors must make the suggested corrections and resubmit the corrected document along with a response document indicating where the corrections have been incorporated or why they have not been accepted.
Review of corrections
If the corrections are minor, the editorial committee will check the changes and the authors' response. If the corrections are more significant, the paper will undergo another round of review by the same reviewers.
Reasoned communication of the editorial decision
The editorial committee makes the final decision on whether to accept or reject the submission. A letter of acceptance is sent to the corresponding author. The editorial decision will always be justified (see editorial policy on scientific evaluation).
Production and publication
This phase involves the technical and formal process by which an accepted scientific article is reviewed for linguistic correctness and editing and is edited according to the journal's style guidelines.
The proposed corrections will be submitted for approval by the authors, and approval of the final version (corrected and laid out) will be mandatory. Once approved, it will be included in the issue or volume of the journal.
In this phase, tasks such as the following are carried out:
- Style correction and text editing.
- Layout and graphic design according to the journal's format.
- Assignment of DOI (Digital Object Identifier).
- Inclusion in the corresponding issue and creation of publication formats.
Before publishing the article, authors will be asked to sign the rights transfer document. Without this document, the article cannot be published.
Post-publication
The dissemination phase consists of giving visibility and promoting the published article so that it reaches its target audience: researchers, professionals, decision-makers, etc., with the aim of increasing its impact and contributing to the dissemination of scientific knowledge.
This phase includes
- Indexing in academic databases and search engines.
- Promotion on academic social networks (ResearchGate, Academia.edu).
- Communication in institutional bulletins, newsletters or press releases.
- Sharing through open access platforms or institutional repositories.
