Resumen:

Este artículo examina la transformación del personaje Bo Peep en Toy Story 4 (Josh Cooley, 2019), como caso de estudio para analizar los vínculos afectivos entre el público y los personajes femeninos en el cine de animación. A través de una metodología híbrida que combina análisis narrativo, teoría fílmica feminista y enfoques de experiencia de usuario, se explora cómo la evolución simbólica de Bo Peep es percibida por los espectadores y qué emociones activa su rediseño. Los resultados obtenidos mediante encuestas y talleres cualitativos, revelan una valoración ambivalente: aunque el nuevo rol de Bo Peep como heroína independiente genera identificación positiva, también se percibe una desconexión narrativa que afecta a su credibilidad emocional. El estudio aporta herramientas para evaluar la eficacia simbólica de los personajes animados desde una perspectiva crítica e interdisciplinar, contribuyendo al análisis de la representación de género en la animación institucional contemporánea.
