Author Guidelines
Video guide for the submission process
Authors are asked to submit manuscripts prepared in some flavour of LaTeX.
As a diamond open access journal, Applied General Topology does not charge any article processing fees (APCs). All published papers are freely available to readers worldwide without subscription or payment, in line with our commitment to the dissemination of knowledge and the promotion of open science.
Due to publishing constraints, only two submissions per author per year will be considered.
The journal does not accept submissions that focus on basic topological properties, generalizations or modifications of topological spaces, or properties of mappings between generalized topological spaces.
Given its broad scope, Applied General Topology aims to publish papers of general interest and significance. Highly specialized works that do not engage with a sufficiently wide mathematical audience or that focus on narrowly technical aspects without broader relevance will not be considered for publication.
On the style of the manuscript
The manuscript should be written in good English and should take into account the following instructions.
Essential title page information
- Title. It should be concise and informative avoiding abbreviations and formulae where possible.
- Author names. Authors' names must be given in full, avoiding the inclusion of initials, particles, and abbreviations.
- Affiliations. The full postal address and electronic e-mail of each author must be provided.
- Abstract. The abstract should state briefly the purpose of the research, the principal results, and major conclusions. An abstract is often presented separately from the article, so it must be able to stand alone. For this reason, references should be avoided. Also, non-standard or uncommon abbreviations should be avoided, but if essential, they must be defined at their first mention in the abstract itself.
- Keywords. Immediately after the abstract, provide a maximum of 6 keywords. These keywords will be used for indexing purposes.
- Mathematics Subject Classification. Please provide classification codes according to the standard AMS codes. A full list and additional information can be found at http://www.ams.org/msc/. At least one code beginning with 54 - General Topology, closely related to the content of the submitted article is required.
Figures
Graphics and figures files must also be provided after acceptance of the manuscripts. The graphics prepared electronically should be submitted in Encapsulated PostScript (EPS).
References
Bibliographical references should be listed alphabetically at the end of the paper. In the text, the references must be indicated by number(s) in square brackets in line with the text
Please, ensure that every reference cited in the text is also present in the reference list and vice versa. Any references cited in the abstract must be given in full. Unpublished results and personal communications are not recommended in the reference list.

Preparation of accepted manuscripts
Only after acceptance of manuscripts, authors will be asked to adapt their manuscripts using AGT’s document class. The AGT style file package (including detailed instructions for LaTeX preparation) can be downloaded from the following link:
This zip file contains four files: AGT.cls, template.tex, agtlogo.eps, and by-nc-sa.png. Please ensure that all files are placed in the same folder on your computer. Authors should open the file template.tex in a LaTeX editor and complete it with the content of their paper.
Source Files
Authors will be asked to upload the LaTeX source file of their manuscript written using AGT document class by means of the Online Submission System of the journal (http://polipapers.upv.es/index.php/AGT/login).
