Abstract

Obviously, we cannot do a rigorous and scientific reading of our Architectural Heritage without an adequate archaeological and historical analysis but always it is not so clear that we should also assess factors that differentiate the architecture itself from other artistic productions: the functionality, the logic of space composition, the importance of light, color and beauty, the meanings and emotions that architecture should have transmitted, etc. We believe that the study of historic architecture that has been done, and partly still is, does not provide the requirements for fully understand the architectural phenomena of a certain age. The sensitive and vital view of the architects, with all the subjectivity that it implies, is often forgotten.
