Focus and Scope

The international journal Applied General Topology publishes only original research papers (not previously published and not submitted at the same time to other journal) related to the interactions between General Topology and other mathematical disciplines as well as topological results with applications to other areas of Science, and the development of topological theories of sufficiently general relevance to allow for future applications.

Papers dealing with generalizations or modifications of topological spaces and their basic properties, mappings between (generalized) topological spaces, or separation axioms, will not be considered.

Since Applied General Topology is a generalist journal we will not consider for publication very specialized papers which could not be of interest for a wide audience.

Applied General Topology accepted the 18% of the original articles submitted during the year 2015.

Peer Review Process

Received manuscripts will be handled by one of the Editors-in-Chief.

The papers can be directly  rejected by the Editor-in-Chief due to its low quality or because it is does not fit to the topics of the journal. Then, the manuscript will be assigned to one of the Section Editors who can also reject the paper.

After this process, the paper will be sent to, at least, One referee in a blind peer review.  The editor will send the author(s) the reports made by the referees. In ocassions, the Section Editor or the Editor-in-Chief can also propose some modifications to the paper. Then the author should send the revised  version of the paper. The Section Editor proposes the publication of the paper to the Editors-in-Chief and the final decision is adopted.

Proof-prints of accepted papers will be available for authors by means of our online system. Authors should examine them carefully and send by e-mail the misprints observed. Modifications of the paper's content are not allowed in print-proofs.

Publication Frequency

Applied General Topology publishes twice a year (April and October).

Open Access Policy

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.
